We can apply a special surface finish to many types of wood according to your individual wishes.
Atelier finishes and lacquers in a selection of colors, various gloss levels, and techniques.
Original wood surface, pre-sanded.
With the raw finish, you can create your own unique surface on-site. Choose from these finishes: Diamond Oil | Antique Lacquer | Matte Lacquer | Satin Lacquer | High-Gloss Lacquer | Commercial Lacquer | Fire-Retardant Lacquer, etc.
Atelier Finish - Manufaktur Oil
The wood floor can be factory-treated with MANUFAKTURÖL, ready for immediate use. The top layer of wood is traditionally cured using only oxygen. This treatment method, originating in Denmark, causes crystallization within the wood, resulting in excellent, almost invisible protection. - Further information can be found at Faktor 8 - FloorandCare.
Color Oil according to Sample
We custom-make your special wood floor according to a color sample. Several color shades are sampled, and you choose your floor. Color Selection à la Carte
Brushing | Texturing
Wood grown in winter is brushed slightly higher, while summer wood is brushed lower. This results in a harder surface for oak, spruce, and larch.
Rough-sawn - brushed
The surface of the finished planks is recut with a band saw, creating an easy-care surface.
Sanded - brushed
Primarily intended for a rustic (Humboldt) finish. The wood around the knots is sanded, creating a worn, weathered, and weathered look. Brushing creates a uniform surface.
Lye treatment
A special surface treatment that allows the oil to penetrate deeper into the wood and creates various surface finishes.
Hand-planed - brushed
This surface is planed with a rough plane where the blade is slightly convex. This creates slightly planed surfaces and tear-outs around knots and against the grain. Upon request, the surface is brushed after planing. This makes the surface more uniform, but the tear-outs are more pronounced (antique effect).
Hand-planed - sanded
The planed surface is hand-planed again (see above), but then sanded by hand, resulting in a softer appearance.
Smoothed with a finishing plane
The entire surface is finely smoothed without sanding. This creates a velvety, fine surface. Ideal for floors that are laid raw and will not receive any surface treatment.
ANNO 1700 - Naturally dried - brushed
Here, a special drying process is used, which causes the knots to dry out. The surface is then smoothed with a plane, brushed, and colored with various lye solutions. The original bandsaw cut with irregularities on the surface is present, the edges are hand-carved with a carving knife, and the unique, handcrafted oil is applied.
Core-smoked
A special type of oak is bog oak. This is not a tree species, but rather oak trunks that have lain in bogs, swamps, or riverbanks for centuries and have been excavated. The tannins in the oak wood combine with the iron salts in the water, making the wood very hard and causing it to discolor significantly. The discoloration can be very irregular, ranging from light gray to dark yellow, dark brown, bluish-gray, and deep black. These subfossil oaks can be 600 to 8,500 years old and are very rare and practically priceless. This process, which has been developing for millennia, is now achieved through smoking or core-smoking within a few days or weeks, depending on the desired color and depth. Smoking often only affects the surface to achieve a brown or dark brown hue. For a truly black surface, the oak wood must be completely core-smoked.
