Atelier Finish Manufakturöl
Atelier Finish Manufakturöl was specially developed to provide better protection for the floor than conventional surface products. In particular, Manufakturöl not only protects against grease and dirt stains, but also offers significantly better protection against the floor drying out. The Manufakturöl surface can easily be used in the kitchen, and after a few initial cleanings, food and grease residues, as well as their stains, can be easily removed from the surface. A floor treated with Manufakturöl requires cleaning as needed. Most dents will easily regenerate on their own through everyday maintenance. If floor cleaning is carried out by a cleaning company, ensure that FloorandCare products are used and that both the frequency and dosage are observed. FloorandCare products are available in white and natural colors. The color of the floor can be easily changed by switching between the two products. A floor saturated with FloorandCare products and which has developed a patina makes everyday cleaning surprisingly easy.
Cleaning and care of factory-treated wood floorboards with manufacturer's oil
The wood floor soap protects the wood from dirt and, to a certain extent, from penetrating liquids. As long as the soap layer remains intact, the floor is beautiful and durable. If the layer is damaged, the wood is exposed to direct wear and tear, and dirt can penetrate the wood's pores. Over time, the wood will develop a dry and worn appearance. It is therefore very important to maintain the soap layer and renew it continuously, like a patina, through everyday care. Do not use microfiber floor cloths or mops. Your floor would become rough and prone to dirt. Please use cloths made of natural fibers such as cotton or wool felt. Always add the wood floor soap to the mop water when wet cleaning. Never wipe with plain water, as this will remove the protective soy and coconut oils.
Preventive Floor Care
To protect the floor, place doormats or similar protective mats in the entrance area to minimize the amount of sand and water tracked onto the floor. It's also important to vacuum regularly to remove sand and dirt. A well-maintained floor can withstand grease, red wine, and sauce stains. The sooner stains are treated, the easier they are to remove. If liquid spills on the floor, wipe it up with a paper towel or a mop. For stubborn stains, use the small hand brush from the cleaning kit or a sponge with a pad. You can leave the sponge, moistened with soapy water, on the stain for up to half an hour before using the floor scrubber for a final cleaning. When mopping or scrubbing, avoid applying too much pressure to prevent removing color pigments or lightening the patina. Wipe the floor with a mop/cloth.
Pressure marks and scratches
Pressure marks and scratches are unavoidable and are part of the natural wear and tear of a wood floor. These signs of wear can be reduced, for example, by using felt pads on furniture. It is especially important to always have a rug or floor mat under office chairs with casters. A rug under the dining table can also be a good solution, depending on the room's decor. Minor scratches will naturally fade with regular wet cleaning. Larger scratches and pressure marks are most easily removed by directly moistening the area with a sponge (dampened with warm water). The wood's pores absorb the water and regenerate. It may be necessary to repeat the process for a few days. It is simple and effective, and therefore also very suitable for homes with pets (dogs and cats). Damage can easily be repaired with wood filler, which is often already present in the knots and cracks, and then briefly oiled, leaving you with just one more knot. (Spot repair – no need for complete sanding) In hotels and restaurants, basic surface cleaning is possible without sanding.
